Bennett is a beautiful little boy who turned 5 in December. He loves swimming/tubing, playgrounds, snowmobiling, skiing, Paw Patrol and Franklin, Portillos, chocolate chip cookies and helping out with EVERYTHING!
Bennett is also struggling with cerebral palsy.
His giggles are amazing and so is his drive to succeed. His first year was filled with a swallow study, an MRI, an EEG and visits with a neurologist and a rehabilitation medicine specialist.
Bennett currently receives physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, horse therapy and coming soon… myofunctional therapy and a visit to the spasticity/gait clinic at Gillette Children’s hospital. We are constantly surprised by both his efforts and his progress.
We feel blessed for the family, friends, doctors, therapists, nurses, support staff and other families going through similar situations who are helping us along our journey. We wanted to show our appreciation and find a way to give back.
That is why we founded the non-profit organization Run Out CP, Inc. and the reason we are hosting the 2018 Superhero Cerebral Palsy Awareness 5k Run/1K Stroll-n-Roll (formerly the Ding Dong Dash). In 2015, our efforts raised $13,000 for the Gait and Motion Analysis clinic at Gillette Children’s hospital. In 2016 we were able to donate $13,000 for Hold Your Horses, a hippotherapy program.
Our goal is to unite people in a fun, family friendly environment to raise money to help individuals living with cerebral palsy.
