Meet Rhett

2 years ago I had the privilege of speaking on behalf of Wishes and More (an organization that helps children with life-threatening/terminal illnesses) at a wonderful event, The Ian Spindler Memorial Charity Golf Tournament. It was my job to introduce Maggie Simon and her family…Maggie was a Wishes and More Wish Recipient. Since then I have had the opportunity to spend time with this amazing family and I am happy to call them friends. This year Rhett, Maggie’s dad, offered to help me with our run and has agreed to be my wingman. I am so happy that he has joined my team and I know that together we are going to make great things happen. Here is a glimpse of Maggie’s life through Rhett’s eyes…

“Our daughter Maggie (MJ as I like to call her) is a fantastic fun, loving girl who happens to have cerebral palsy. MJ was born on November 27th, 2011…14 weeks too soon. MJ loves to play with her dolls, and of course, on the I pad, and anything that her big sister Lily is doing. MJ has inspired me and my wife Liz so much that we look at life in a much simpler light than we once used to. With all she has been through in her short time on this earth (spending the first 3 months of her life in the NICU at the University of Minnesota, multiple therapies every week & regular specialist visits) she always handles it way better than I could imagine or better than I could myself. Every time I see her, I feel more proud of her than the last.”
